Sheldon’s Park And Recreation Director To Resign Mid September
Date posted - August 21, 2012
Sheldon, Iowa — Sheldon’s Park and Recreation Director has resigned his position with the City. Andy Lueth tells KIWA that his family will be moving back to South Dakota where he and his wife grew up. Lueth has taken a sales position with a company called ‘Maximum Promotions’ in Sioux Falls.
He said he has enjoyed the time he spent in Sheldon where he helped the rec program grow and add new programs. He also is pleased to see the City and School district working together to add more recreation facilities.
Lueth added that he loves Park and Recreation work and always will, but this has been a very demanding position, and now that they have a son he wants to spend more time with his family. He began his work in Sheldon in May, 2008. His resignation is effective September 14th.

Demanding position? He hired out for every program so he didn’t have to be there.
When he was at the pool or ball fields, all he did was bark out orders to the employees in a not so friendly matter. He is so arrogant I can hardly stand to look at him!
Thanks for all you did the last 4 years Andy. The rec program is in a better spot than when you arrived. Good luck to you in the future. Don’t listen to all the negative comments above–you did a good job.
It was great working with you the past 5 summers! The job was demanding of his time he didn’t have a 9-5 or 12-9 job. He was always busy and got called away even during ‘off’ hours. I agree with Jay, the program is in a better place now than it was before you started. I wish you and Amber much luck!
We tell our children how bad the bullying problem is and yet the adults are making inconsiderate comments on half of the stories on this website. Kiwa, what good has come from these comments on any story? Is it worth all the hate and bullying we are trying to eliminate in this society?
I can’t believe all the negative comments I read on here anymore. This town is a great place to live. I come from a different part of the country where things are a lot different. We have a great park and rec program and I think he had a lot to do with it. What happened to if you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything at all?
I want to thank Andy for his service as Rec Director. It is not very easy to do the job that he did. Alot of people are critical of him at times including myself, but I realize all the good things he did. If we look back to what we had before Andy came, it wasn’t much. Good Job Andy, & I wish you well in your new job in Sioux Falls
I too feel that Andy has done a wonderful job here in Sheldon. The Rec. programs offered for the kids is the main reason I moved here. The online signups are wonderful, he always promptly answered emailed questions and I believe he worked very hard for the benefit of us all. Unfortunately there are always those few negative people that live just to rake down everybody elses efforts, as can be seen in a few of these posts.
