Shop With A Cop Shopping Night Approaches

Sheldon, Iowa — We’re into the final third of summer vacation and students are starting to think about going back to school. One way disadvantaged kids get help is through the annual “Shop With A Cop” shopping event, which is coming up.

Sheldon Police Chief Lyle Bolkema tells us about it.

He says the actual shopping nights will be Tuesday and Thursday, August 4 and 6.

The chief says for the most part, the students get clothing and related items. Each one is also given a backpack with school supplies in it.

He says he’s happy they can help the community’s children in this way.
