Sioux Center Woman Transported To Hospital After Accident

Iowa State Patrol logoSioux Center, Iowa — A Sioux Center woman was taken to the hospital after an accident on Thursday, January 30 near Sioux Center.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 6:45 AM, 18-year-old Saul Nava-Penaloza of Rock Valley was driving on Highway 75, just a little over three miles north of the Pella window plant on Sioux Center’s north side in a 1999 Pontiac. Thirty-three-year-old Rachael Vande Stouwe of Sioux Center was driving a 2000 Pontiac.

Iowa State Patrol Sergeant Steve Hilt’s report says Nava-Penaloza lost control and crossed into the oncoming lane, where he struck the Vande Stouwe vehicle head-on.

Vande Stouwe was transported to the Sioux Center Hospital by Sioux Center Ambulance. Nava-Penaloza received minor injuries.

Nava-Penaloza’s Pontiac and Vande Stouwe’s Pontiac received $5000 damage, each.

Nava-Penaloza was charged with Failure to Maintain Control.
