Sioux County Airport Honored For Partnership

Maurice, Iowa — A Sioux County government partnership has been honored for cooperation.

The cities of Sioux Center and Orange City and Sioux County have been honored for joint efforts to create the Sioux County Regional Airport about a year ago with a 2019 All-Star Community Award from the Iowa League of Cities.

Sioux Center Mayor David Krahling tells us about it.

He gives us his thoughts and those of the Sioux Center City Council on the award.

The new Sioux County Regional Airport, set midway between Sioux Center and Orange City, is also able to handle business jets and charter flights, along with heavy agricultural usage. Business jets previously had to land in Sioux Falls or Sioux City. Multiple businesses are based on the airfield.
