Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Cites Nine On Alcohol Charges, One On Interference Charge

underage drinkingAlton, Iowa — Nine young people were cited on alcohol charges and one on and interference charge early Tuesday morning at a place southeast of Alton.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that just after 1 AM, their deputies investigated a report of people under the legal age in possession of alcohol at a residence four miles southeast of Alton.

Upon further investigation, deputies discovered that several people under the age of 21 were found to be in
possession of alcohol.

Eighteen-year-old Braden Van Heuvelen of Alton and 19-year-old Matthew Vande Kieft of Orange City were cited for minor in possession of alcohol.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that 21-year-old Kisara Kooi of Alton was arrested for interference with official acts.

Additionally, seven juveniles were issued Juvenile Court citations for minor in possession of alcohol and were
released to their parents.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Orange City Police Department.
