Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Releases Name of Hospers Man Arrested For Making Facebook Threats

Hospers, Iowa — Sioux County Sheriff’s Officials have now released the name of a man who was arrested on Monday (12/17) for making threats on Facebook.

Sheriff’s officials report they have filed a charge of First Degree Harassment against 22-year-old Ricky Lee Carver of Hospers. While Carver was taken into custody on Monday, he was transported to Mercy Medical in Sioux City. Sioux County authorities say that they have issued a warrant for his arrest and the Sheriff’s Office will take him into custody as soon as he’s released from the hospital, which they report could be in the next couple of days.

He’ll then be booked into the Sioux County Jail.

The case arose on Monday when sheriff’s officials say Carver made the comment, QUOTE: “I want to shoot a bunch of people, my family and myself.”

All of the MOC/Floyd Valley schools and Spalding Catholic Elementary in Hospers were placed on lockdown as a precaution, even though schools were not mentioned in Carver’s comment.

Officers soon found Carver walking near his home in Hospers, and took him into custody.
