Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Information On Possible Hit-And-Run Accident In Hull

On Thursday, September 12, at 2:17 p.m., the driver of the white impala was located.  Betty Bonestroo, age 79, of Hull was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Impala southbound on Okey Street. She stopped for the stop sign at Highway 18, and then turned left onto Highway 18 where the Chevrolet struck the Pontiac.

No injuries were reported by Bonestroo.

The Chevrolet sustained approximately $1,500 in damages.  Bonestroo was cited for failure to yield from stop sign.


Hull, Iowa — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an accident in which one of the drivers is alleged to have left the scene. They’re asking if anyone has any information on the alleged incident.

Sheriff’s officials report that just after 8:30 Wednesday morning (9/11/13), 15-year-old Brittany Buren of Sheldon was driving a 2006 Pontiac G6 westbound on Highway 18. She reported that a white Chevrolet Impala turned left onto Highway 18 from Okey Street, striking the Pontiac she was driving. After the accident, it’s reported that the Chevrolet stopped briefly and then drove eastbound on Highway 18. The driver of the Chevrolet was
reportedly an elderly female.

No injuries were reported by Buren.

The Pontiac sustained approximately $1,000 in damages. It is unknown if the Impala sustained any damages. If it did, any damages would likely be to the front or driver’s side of the vehicle.
