Sioux County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Material Witness In Stabbing Case

LeanosRock Valley, Iowa — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is now looking for a possible witness in connection with the stabbing that took place on Tuesday night near Rock Valley.

A warrant of arrest for Material Witness has been issued for 22-year-old Alonzo Leanos.

Any information concerning his whereabouts can be given to the sheriff’s office by calling 712-737-3307 or using the Text‐A‐Tip program. Leanos is six feet tall and weighs 220 pounds. His last known address is in rural Rock Valley.

Sioux County Chief Deputy Nate Huizenga says this may NOT the same person they alerted the public to be on the lookout for on Wednesday. That person may or may not be involved with this case. He was just pulled over in a location near the stabbing and he ran from deputies, but he may not even be involved.

So to clarify, the Sheriff’s office may be looking for two people — the man who ran, and the material witness — Leanos. Both are Hispanic men in their 20′s. The man who ran is described as having a thin beard.
