Sioux County Youth Fair Starts This Weekend.

Northwest Iowa — County Fair season is upon us once again, and again this year the season begins in Sioux Center fairwith the Sioux County Youth Fair, which kicks off this weekend.

Friday’s events at the Sioux County Youth Fair will take place at the Centre Mall in Sioux Center, where the Clothing Judging and Clothing Event Fashion Show will take place.  The fair begins in earnest on Saturday with various livestock show and judging events throughout the day, along with County Council Mud Volleyball, which takes place at 4:00 pm.

Sunday’s lone event is the Queen and Little Miss Coronation, which takes place at 5:30.  The Sioux County Youth Fair continues Monday, July 14th with something for everyone, including pony rides, a kids pedal tractor pull, petting zoo exhibits and a watermelon feed.  Monday’s fair festivities are capped off with a concert by Highroad III, an Appalachian gospel group from Nashville, Tennessee.

Some of the other highlights of this year’s Sioux County Youth Fair include Tuesday night’s Greased Pig Contest, and Wednesday’s Sprint Car Races.

The Sioux County Youth Fair runs Saturday July 12th through Thursday July 17th.
