Date posted - August 30, 2013
The South Dakota Highway Patrol says that about 9:30 PM, 82-year-old Delbert Dave Duncan of Sioux Falls was westbound on 285th Street in a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country van, about a mile and a half south of Beloit, Iowa — but in South Dakota. That’s about a half a mile to a mile west of the Big Sioux River.
The vehicle left the roadway near the intersection of 482nd Avenue, hit a guardrail and vaulted into the creek, where it caught fire. Duncan, who was not wearing a seatbelt, died at the scene from injuries received in the crash.
No further information is immediately available.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating. The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Highway Patrol at the scene.
