Sioux Falls Man Transported To Hospital After Larchwood Accident On Christmas Day

Lyon County Sheriff Car Door 60-8Larchwood, Iowa — A Sioux Falls man was taken to a hospital after an accident on Christmas Day near Larchwood.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department reports that about 3:45 PM, 27-year-old Jacob Thiner of Sioux Falls was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Tracker southbound on Highway 9, three miles northwest of Larchwood.

As Thiner began entering the curve at 110th Street, he lost control of the vehicle, which entered the northeast ditch, rolled, and came to a rest on its wheels facing north.

Thiner was transported to Sanford Rock Rapids Hospital by the Lyon County Ambulance.

The Tracker, owned by Brenda Thiner of George, was totaled with estimated damages of $8,000.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Larchwood EMS, the Larchwood Fire Department and the Lyon County Ambulance.
