Sioux Falls Man Transported To Sanford Sheldon After Thursday Accident

Sheldon, Iowa — A Sioux Falls man was taken to the hospital after an accident on Thursday (7/19) in Sheldon.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 5:05 PM, 30-year-old Troy Wassenaar of Sheldon was southbound on Country Club Road,just south of East Sixth Street in a 2004 Chevy. Forty-three-year-old Larry Mathes of Sioux Falls was backing eastbound from a residential driveway in a 2007 Dodge, backed into the path of the pickup, and the two collided.

Mathes was transported to Sanford Sheldon by SCAT.

Wassenaar’s Chevy pickup received $3000 damage. Mathes’s Dodge received $3500 damage.

Sheldon Police, Fire, Ambulance, and Emergency Management responded to the scene.
