Sioux Falls Police Arrest Man Wanted In Lyon County Regarding Drinking And Drug Arrest At West Lyon School

Hand Cuffs sxcSioux Falls, SD — The Sioux Falls man who was wanted by the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office after reports of underage drinking and illegal drug use at the West Lyon School — has been arrested in Sioux Falls.

On Friday (9/20/13), deputies were called to the West Lyon School to investigate the incident. They identified 20-year-old Ricardo Rasgado-Martinez of Sioux Falls, and two boys as the persons involved.

On Monday, September 23, 2013 the Sioux Falls Police Department arrested Rasgado-Martinez on the Lyon County arrest warrants. Rasgado-Martinez has waived extradition to Iowa but is currently being held on charges stemming from his arrest in Sioux Falls.

He faces Lyon County charges of carrying weapons in a weapons-free zone and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, all serious misdemeanors.

Lyon County Sheriff Stewart Vander Stoep says that there were no weapons used in the incident, but weapons were found in the suspects’ vehicles during the investigation.
