Sioux Falls Teen Arrested On Drug Charges Near Rock Rapids

Rock Rapids, Iowa — A Sioux Falls teen was arrested during a traffic stop west of Rock Rapids on Friday.Lyon County Sheriff Car Door 60-8

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Friday evening, in the 8 PM hour, one of their deputies stopped a motor vehicle for a traffic violation on Highway 9 near Fir Avenue, four miles west of Rock Rapids.

As a result of the traffic stop the driver was identified as 38-year-old Dean Bowman of Sioux Falls. He was cited for no insurance.

The passenger was identified as 18-year-old Matthew Bowman of Sioux Falls. The younger Bowman was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance, a serious misdemeanor; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. Matthew Bowman was transported to the Lyon County Jail.
