Sioux Falls Woman Taken To Hospital After Pursuit Results In Crash Near Alvord Saturday Night

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that one of their deputies saw a suspicious vehicle at a hog confinement in the 1900 block of Dove Avenue, north of Alvord, about 9:30 Saturday night (5/4). As the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver started the vehicle and fled the scene. The deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver did not stop. A pursuit ensued, southbound on Dove Avenue, ending in the 2300 block of Dove Avenue, two miles south of Alvord. The vehicle left the roadway, rolled, and landed on its driver’s side.
The Lyon County Ambulance transported the driver, Kathryne M. Bauer, of Sioux Falls to Sanford Rock Rapids. She was later transfered to Sanford Sioux Falls.
The accident is still under investigation and charges may be filed.
The Iowa State Patrol, Alvord Fire and Rescue, and Lyon County Ambulance assisted the Lyon County Sheriff’s Office.
