Sioux Sheriff Seeks Public’s Help To Solve Maurice Burglary

Maurice, Iowa — The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is looking for the public’s help to solve a burglary case.

On Monday, September 10, at 10:05 a.m., the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an attempted residential burglary in progress at 4792 Highway 75, one mile south of Maurice. When deputies arrived a short time later, the suspect had already left the area. Two doors to the residence were damaged in an apparent attempt to gain entry into the house. The vehicle left the residence driving northbound on Highway 75.

The suspect is believed to have stopped at another residence about one mile away prior to attempting the burglary at the residence on Highway 75. In that incident, the suspect was met by the home owners and left after asking for directions.

The suspect’s vehicle is described as a small, dark maroon or brown SUV, foreign unknown make and model with possible gray or silver bottom plastic trim. The unknown license plates were white and blue out of state plates. The suspect is described as a 30-35 year old white male, average build with glasses and short brown hair.
