Sheldon, IA — The Siouxland Conference art show that we’ve been telling you about today in Sheldon has been postponed due to unfit conditions for the track meet with which it is associated. Both events have been postponed to this coming Monday, May 6.
Approximately 120 pieces of artwork from students in all 10 of the Siouxland Conference schools will be on display at the Sheldon Middle School on Monday (5/6).
Sheldon High School art teacher Steve McWilliams says the show, which is now in it’s fourth year, was started as a northwest Iowa show, to showcase the work of area student artists, but has since become a Siouxland Conference event.
McWilliams says the artwork chosen for the show was chosen by the conference’s art instructors, and represents works in six different categories.
He says the exhibits will be judged, much like music and speech contests, with ratings placed on each work, as well as other awards that will be given.
The Siouxland Conference Art Show is Monday (May 6) from 4:00 until 8:00 pm in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Sheldon Community Middle School. Please use the northwest entrance to the building. The public is encouraged to attend.
