Date posted - March 16, 2012

Six people have been charged with drug offenses after a drug bust in Primghar on Wednesday (3/14).

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 8:10 PM, their deputies served a search warrant at the Ryan Alan Coates residence — an apartment on Fourth Street Northeast in Primghar. Drug paraphernalia and a small quantity of marijuana were seized from Coates’ apartment. A subsequent search at Samantha Ann Dowd’s residence — another apartment at the same address — resulted in more paraphernalia being seized and a substantial quantity of marijuana.

Six people were arrested on drug charges.

Charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana, a serious misdemeanor, were 21-year-old Ryan Alan Coates of Primghar, 28-year-old William Glenn Collins II of Primghar, 24-year-old Samantha Ann Dowd of Primghar, 34-year-old Carissa Lea Collins of Hartley, and 18-year-old Bobbi Jo Collins of Hartley.

Charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, were Coates, 20-year-old Emily Joyce Otto of Primghar, William Collins, and Dowd.

Additionally, Coates was charged with Supplying Alcohol to minors, a simple misdemeanor; and OWI charges against Bobbi Jo Collins are pending.

All were taken to the O’Brien County Jail and released the next morning on bond.

They will appear in court at a later date.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, Sanborn Police Department, Hartley Police Department, and the Department of Human Services assisted the O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office.
