Sixteen Teens Cited On Underage Alcohol Violations After Texted Tip

text-a-tipHospers, Iowa — Sixteen teens were cited for underage possession of alcohol near Hospers on Saturday (2/2), including one who was arrested on another charge.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that they were advised of the illegal activity via a Text-A-Tip report. The party was about three miles east of Hospers.

Deputies discovered that several people under the age of 21 were found to be in possession of alcohol.
Nineteen-year-old Trisha De Jong, 18-year-old Samantha Newborg, 18-year-old Rebecca Streff, all from Alton; 18-year-old Tyler Nielsen, 18-year-old Andrew Hoefling both from Marcus, and 18-year-old Margaret Schroeder of Granville were issued citations for minor in possession of alcohol.

Eighteen-year-old Jennifer Auchstetter of Hospers was arrested for contributing to the delinquency of a child and minor in possession of alcohol.

Additionally, nine juveniles were issued Juvenile Court citations for minor in possession of alcohol and were released to their parents.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Iowa State Patrol.
