South Dakota Man Airlifted To Sioux Falls Hospital After Accident Near Rock Valley

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 1:20 AM, 29-year-old Brent Russell Threeton of Platte, South Dakota was driving a 2008 Toyota Scion southbound on K30, three miles north of Rock Valley near 270th Street, when he lost control of the vehicle and it entered the west ditch. The vehicle struck the ditch and rolled at least one time before coming to rest on its passenger side.
Threeton was transported to Hegg Memorial Hospital in Rock Valley where he was then airlifted to Avera McKennan in Sioux Falls where he was treated for serious injuries.
The vehicle is considered to be a total loss with damages of $13,000.
The accident is still under investigation.
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Rock Valley Police Department, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Department, the Rock Valley Fire Department and Rescue, and the Rock Valley Ambulance.
