Spencer Ambulance, Pickup Driven By Ocheyedan Woman Damaged In Accident

osceolasheriffOcheyedan, Iowa — An ambulance owned by the City of Spencer and a pickup driven by an Ocheyedan woman were damaged in an accident near Ocheyedan on Saturday (2/23).

The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 12 noon, 45-year-old Neal Eisenbacher of Spencer was driving a 2012 Chevy Ambulance owned by the City of Spencer. He was westbound on Highway 9, northwest of Ocheyedan when he noticed an oncoming 2006 GMC Sierra cross the centerline. Eisenbacher tried to avoid a collision but was still sideswiped by the pickup, which was driven by 42-year-old Wendy Swarthout of Ocheyedan.

The ambulance sustained damage to a mirror, estimated at $1000. The pickup also sustained a broken mirror, plus a shattered driver window. Damage was estimated at $500.

There were no injuries reported.

Swarthout was cited for Failure to Yield Half the Roadway When Meeting A Vehicle.
