Spencer Man Injured In Motorcycle Versus Deer Crash

Spencer, Iowa — A Spencer man was injured in a motorcycle accident on Friday (7/6) near Spencer.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that about 9:25 PM, 58-year-old Roger Rustad was westbound on Highway 18, three miles west of Spencer on a 1997 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, when he collided with a deer that was on the road.

Rustad was taken to Spencer Hospital by Spencer Ambulance.

Three troopers covered the accident, with help from the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Spencer Ambulance, and the Dickens Fire Department.
