Spencer Sixteen-Year-Old Takes Responsibility For Leaving Threatening Note

Spencer, Iowa — A sixteen-year-old from Spencer has admitted that he left a threatening note in a Spencer High School bathroom that caused an evacuation of the school on Thursday, March 6th.

According to the Spencer Police Department a sixteen-year-old Spencer High School student has come forward and taken responsibility for the act. The student has been charged with making a terroristic threat, a Class D Felony; and was released to his parents. The juvenile has been referred to juvenile probation authorities.

Classes and all evening activities at Spencer High were canceled as a precaution on Thursday, March 6th, after the threatening note was found in one of the bathrooms.

Spencer Police report that no device was found during a search of the high school, and things were expected to be back to normal.
