Spencer Teen Injured In Bike Versus Truck Accident Last Week Has Passed Away

fatal ambulance IISioux Falls, SD — A Spencer teen who was involved in a bicycle versus truck accident in Spencer last week has now passed away.

The Spencer Police Department reports that they were notified on Thursday morning (10-3-13) that 19-year-old Jonathan Ferguson of Spencer, passed away early that morning as a result of head injuries suffered when the bicycle he was riding, collided with a truck at an intersection in Spencer.

About 9:45 on Friday, September 27, 2013, Ferguson reportedly ran a stop sign at West Eighth Street and First Avenue West, and struck the passenger side of a truck being driven by Jim Mingus of Spencer. Ferguson was transported to the Spencer Hospital and later transported by helicopter to Sioux Falls.

No charges are pending in this incident.
