St. Patrick’s Celebrating Catholic Schools Week

Sheldon, Iowa — This is National Catholic Schools week, and St. Patrick’s School in Sheldon is celebrating with different themes and activities throughout the week.

Monday was proclaimed “Hundred’s Day” at St. Patrick’s, with students dressing as they might have 100 years ago.

Tuesday is set as “Sports Day”, with students and teachers sporting the attire of their favorite sports teams. Tuesday is also “Community Day”, and to celebrate, St. Patrick’s will host several local officials and other dignitaries for lunch with the students Tuesday at mid-day. After lunch, the community theme will carry through with the acfternoon’s activities. St. Pat’s students in Grades K through 2nd will travel to Sanford Sheldon Senior Care, and play bells for the residents. Students in 5th through 7th grade will venture to Village Northwest Unlimited, and play games with the Village residents.

Wednesday will be “Mismatch Day” at St. Patrick’s School. Students and teachers are encouraged to wear mismatched clothing that day.

Thursday will be Teacher Appreciation Day.

Friday is “Alumni Mass Day”. St. Patrick’s Alumni have been invited to the 8:30 Friday morning Mass, and there will be donuts served afterward. Also on Friday, K through 4th students will play “Announcement Bingo”, and Grades 5th through 8th will go bowling in Sibley.

Catholic Schools Week for 2018 wraps up Sunday morning with the “Wrap Up Mass” at 8:30 Sunday morning.
