Stolen ATV Returned, Sheldon Police Seek Information

ATVSheldon, Iowa — An ATV stolen from a Sheldon motorsports dealership earlier this month has been returned, and police are asking for the public’s help in finding out who took it.

Sheldon Police Chief Lyle Bolkema says the Polaris Razer S800 ATV, valued at $9200, was taken from the west side of Glen’s Sport Center over the weekend of January 11-13.  Bolkema says it was returned to the dealership sometime Wednesday night into Thursday morning of this week.  Bolkema says the unit was returned with approximately 50 more miles on it than when it was stolen.

Police are asking for the public’s help in solving this crime.  If you saw anyone with an ATV matching the one stolen, which is pictured above, or if you know anyone who had possession of one for a little more than a week but no longer has it, please contact the Sheldon Police Department at 712-324-2525.

Bolkema says he suspects the unit was returned due to the pressure generated by the publicity the machine’s theft generated, including the story and photo here on
