It’s called “Summer Fun in Sheldon” and it’s in Downtown Sheldon on Monday, (6/25).
Kicking things off will be the SCDC, KIWA Radio, and Community Blood Bank hosting an “All American” blood drive from 10 to 2 and 3 to 6 at the Sheldon Community Services Building.
Ken Ver Steeg with the Community Blood Bank says that with blood supplies at their lowest, due to many traumas and surgery cases, this blood drive will help ensure the availability of blood for additional patients when the need arises. Blood usage has increased in recent days by 28%, placing a heavy burden on the blood supply. All blood types are in immediate need. All who donate will receive a free lunch and an ALL AMERICAN BLOOD DONOR t-shirt.
Sanford Sheldon Medical Center blood needs are supplied by Community Blood Bank. Community Blood Bank has been the sole provider of blood and blood product for Sanford Sheldon Medical Center for over 12 years.
Donors must be at least 17 years of age (16 years old with signed parent consent form), weigh 110 lbs or more and be in good general health the day of the blood drive. Please bring a form of I.D. with you. To schedule an appointment or for more information call the Sheldon Chamber at 324-2813. Walk-ins are welcome.
