Date posted - July 8, 2012

Sheldon, Iowa — A portion of the city of Sheldon experienced a power outage on Sunday morning.

According to MidAmerican Energy spokesperson Tina Potthoff, the outage appears to have been storm-related, and was bordered by the 2600 block of Monroe Avenue, County Road L36, the 5700 block of 300th Street, and the 4300 block of 330th Street. She says the outage happened at 6:49 AM, and affected 684 customers in the city of Sheldon and in rural O’Brien and Sioux Counties.

She says the cause appears to have been a burnt jumper, which was repaired and the power restored.
