Sutherland, Iowa — The O’Brien County Conservation Board’s Prairie Heritage Center is celebrating 10 years this year. There are a number of activities coming up.
One of them is a free survival camp for beginners which will be held on Thursday, August 4 at Dog Creek Park.
O’Brien County Conservation Board Naturalist Charlene Elyea tells us about it.
She says pre-registration is required for the event at least a day before the camp, or Wednesday, August 3rd. Contact the O’Brien County Conservation Board at 712-295-7200 to register.
Elyea tells us that there will be an advanced survival camp for kids who are a little older and/or more experienced. That one will be August 11th.
Also coming up as the Prairie Heritage Center celebrates their tenth anniversary are a “Bison Stampede Trail Run” on August 13th, and their annual Bison Burger Picnic on August 16th. Again, call 712-295-7200 or visit prairieheritagecenter.org for more information.
