Sutherland Man Faces Felony Criminal Mischief Charge

Sutherland, Iowa — A Sutherland man faces a felony charge after his arrest Tuesday night in Sutherland.

O’Brien County Jail records indicate 38-year old Joshua Jay Mahler of Sutherland was arrested on a warrant charging him with 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief, which is a Class D Felony.

O’Brien County court officials say the arrest stems from an incident that happened on August 31st of this year, when Mahler is alleged to have purposely damaged or defaced property, including a 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix, in Sutherland.  Officials say the total amount of damage in the incident was between $1-thousand and $10-thousand.

Jail records indicate Mahler was booked into the O’Brien County Jail shortly after 11:00 Tuesday night.
