Texted Tip Results In Three Drug-Related Arrests Near Sioux Center

Sioux Center, Iowa — A tip texted to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office has resulted in three drug-related arrests.
On Friday, September 14 at 12:54 AM, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested 21-year-old Cesar Gomez Quintanilla of Sioux Center, for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia; 21-year-old Katy Landwier of Newton for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia and 20-year-old Caleb Waldecker of Bluff City, TN for operating while intoxicated-drugged, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The arrests stemmed from a text-a-tip received by the Sheriff’s Office reporting a suspicious vehicle that was parked at the intersection of 420th Street and Harrison Avenue, three miles southeast of Sioux Center. Deputies were able to locate and stop the vehicle at the intersection of 390th Street and Harrison Avenue, one mile east of Sioux Center.
Possession of a controlled substance and operating while intoxicated-drugged are both serious misdemeanors. Possession of drug paraphernalia is a simple misdemeanor.
The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sioux County Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) and the Sioux Center Police Department.
