Three Charged With Alcohol-Related Violations In Two Lyon County Incidents

beer alcohol boozeRock Rapids, Iowa — Three people were charged with alcohol violations in two separate Lyon County incidents on Friday (3/15).

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 1:30 pm, a deputy conducted a traffic stop north of Doon on K-42. During the traffic stop it was discovered that a 16-year-old passenger had been consuming alcohol. The juvenile, from Sibley, was charged with Minor In Possession. The driver of the vehicle, 23-year-old Scott Nasers, also of Sibley, was charged with Providing Alcohol to a Minor.

About 12 hours earlier, a Lyon County deputy responded to a call of a suspicious vehicle that was parked behind a bank in George at 1:00 AM. Upon investigation, it was determined that the driver of the vehicle, 25-year-old Jonathan J. Conaway was under the influence of alcohol. Conaway was arrested and charged with Operating While Intoxicated – 2nd Offense.
