Three Primghar Residents Arrested In Drug Bust

law lightbar bluePrimghar, Iowa — Three Primghar residents have been arrested on drug charges.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday evening (3/6), their deputies conducted a search at the home of Melissa Zmudka on North McCormack Street in Primghar. The Sheriff’s report says that a significant amount of marijuana and methamphetamine were seized along with drug paraphernalia.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office arrested three individuals on charges of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana, a serious misdemeanor, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor. They were 38-year-old Melissa Kay Zmudka of Primghar, 34-year-old Charlie Daniel Chapman of Primghar, and 51-year-old Kevin Karl Janssen of Primghar.

Janssen was also charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, Methamphetamine, which, like marijuana possession, is a serious misdemeanor.

The three were taken to the O’Brien County Jail and released the next morning on unsecured appearance bonds. All will appear in court at a later date.

The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by Officers from the Iowa Great Lake Task Force including the Clay County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa Division of Narcotic Enforcement, Sioux Falls Police Department and the Department of Human Services.
