Thursday Accident In Sheldon Sends Sheldon Man To Hospital

SCAT back 2012Sheldon, Iowa — A Sheldon man was taken to the hospital after an accident on Thursday (8/22/13) in Sheldon.

The Sheldon Police Department reports that about 11:10 AM, 61-year-old Charles Putnam of Sheldon was westbound on Highway 18, in a 2002 Ford pickup. Fifty-year-old Mark Listrom of Alexandria, MN was also westbound on 18 behind Putnam in a 2007 Freightliner semi.

Both vehicles were in the inside lane. Putnam was yielding to make a left turn onto Sixth Avenue. Listrom rear-ended the Putnam pickup.

Putnam was transported to Sanford Sheldon by SCAT.

Putnam’s Ford pickup received $5000 damage. The Freightliner that Listrom was driving was not damaged.
