Tournament of Roses Association President to Personally Invite MOC/FV Band To The Rose Parade

Orange City, Iowa – This year, the Orange City Tulip Festival will feature not only tulips, but one special event will feature roses. The Pasadena Tournament of Roses, that is. The 2013 Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association President, Sally Bixby, will visit the Orange City Tulip Festival on May 18 and 19 to formally welcome the Pride of the Dutchmen as one of 22 bands chosen from around the world to make the historic 5 ½ mile journey down Pasadena’s Colorado Boulevard on Tuesday, January 1, 2013.

As President of the 935 volunteer members of the Tournament of Roses Association, Mrs. Bixby will present The Pride of the Dutchmen with the traditional Rose Parade flag, which represents the band’s prestigious participation in the 124th Rose Parade. The annual Rose Parade will spotlight thematically designed floral floats, high stepping equestrian units and spirited marching bands.

Nearly one million people are anticipated to line the Rose Parade route, while more than 350 million people in over 100 countries are expected to view the Rose Parade on television.
