Trial For Pair Accused In Buddz’s Fire To Be In April, 2015

Primghar, Iowa — A trial date has been set for two Sheldon residents charged with arson after a business fire in 2013.

budd-zs-98According to court records, the trial date for Kristina Manasil and Adam Sickles was set at a pretrial conference on Tuesday, September 2nd.  The trial is scheduled to start at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, April 28, 2015. The pair are accused of arson in the May, 2013 fire at Buddz’s Sports Bar and the Rec Bowl in Sheldon. Manasil was the owner of the business and Sickles was one of her employees.

After a delay related to an asbestos removal permit, the demolition of the building was completed earlier this summer.

While the City is footing the bill for the removal, there will be a lien placed against the property so that the City will be reimbursed when the lot is sold.

Former Sioux County Attorney Coleman McAllister, now with the Iowa Attorney General’s Office is the prosecuting attorney in the case.
