Tulip Festival Opens Thursday

Orange City, Iowa — The 2018 Orange City Tulip Festival begins in earnest Thursday (May 17th), with a wide variety of attractions and entertainment available.

Things kick off at 9:00 each morning with the beginning of the horse-drawn trolley rides, antique tractor show, and the opening of several exhibits around Orange City. At 10:00 a.m. daily, there are wooden shoe carving demonstrations, along with the Tulip Court Meet & Greet.

The first of several Dutch Dozen performances happen daily at 10:30 am. Also at 10:30, you’ll be able to enjoy the music of the Dutch street organ.

At 1:00 each afternoon is the Straat Fest, or Street Festival, followed at 2:00 by the traditional scrubbing of the streets, and at 2:15 the Volksparade. This twice-daily parade is also held at 6:00 each evening. Each day of the Orange City Tulip Festival is capped off by the Tulip Festival Night Show production of Beauty and the Beast.

The 2018 Orange City Tulip Festival runs Thursday through Sunday this week, with Sunday’s lone activity being a Community Worship Service Sunday at 11:00.
