Two From Hull Escape Serious Injury In Accident That Closed Highway 18

Sioux Sheriff Car 84-Hull, Iowa — Two people from Hull escaped serious injury and declined medical attention after an accident that closed Highway 18 east of Hull on Tuesday.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that about 4:20 PM, 37-year-old Julie Noble of Hull was driving a 2002 GMC Denali westbound on Highway 18, two miles east of Hull. Eighty-two-year-old Howard Te Slaa of Hull was driving a 2012 Chevrolet Silverado pickup eastbound on Highway 18. When Te Slaa attempted to turn north onto Ironwood Avenue, he struck Noble‚Äôs vehicle.

Noble and Te Slaa each declined medical attention.

The GMC sustained approximately $9,000 in damages. The Chevrolet sustained an estimated $12,000 in damages.

Te Slaa was cited for failure to yield upon making a left turn.

The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Hull Fire Department and Hull Ambulance.
