Two From South Dakota And One In SD State Pen Face Felony Drug Charges In Sioux County

Hand Cuffs sxcOrange City, Iowa — Two people from South Dakota are in custody and face felony drug charges in Sioux County.

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Friday, January 31, 33-year-old Shelly Snow of Vermillion, SD, turned herself in, in reference to a warrant that had been issued for her arrest. Snow was charged with Conspiracy to Deliver Methamphetamine, a class C felony.

The arrest warrant stemmed from a drug investigation that was initiated in July of 2013 by the Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Hawarden Police Dept.

They also report that 39-year-old Brett Hamel of Sioux Falls was arrested by the Sioux Falls Police Department in connection with the same case. He was transported to the Sioux County Jail on December 24, 2013. Hamel was also charged with Conspiracy to Deliver Methamphetamine.

The Sheriff’s Office also reports that one more arrest is pending. An arrest warrant has been issued for 33-year-old Travis Morgan, formerly of rural Hawarden. He is also charged with Possession with intent to Deliver Methamphetamine. Morgan is currently in the South Dakota State Penitentiary at Sioux Falls and will be brought to Sioux County when he is released.
