Two People Transported To Hospital After Two Osceola County Accidents

September 2, 2012, at 1:40pm, Charles McKee, age 24 of Ashton, Iowa, was driving a 2001 GMC Sierra southbound on Oak Hill Avenue, north of 210th Street when the vehicle went off onto the right shoulder of the roadway. McKee over-corrected and lost control of the vehicle on the roadway. McKee entered the right ditch and struck a culvert and field driveway before flipping the truck onto its top. The vehicle, owned by Innovative Protein Management of Lemars, Iowa, was a total loss. McKee was taken to the Osceola Community Hospital with possible injuries. McKee was given a citation for Failure to Maintain Control and Use of Electronic Communication Device While Driving.
September 1, 2012, at 10:58am, Logan McMartin, age 21 of Sibley, Iowa was driving a 2001 Ford pickup, northbound on 4th Avenue, approaching the intersection of 3rd Street in Sibley, Iowa. Stephanie Krogman, age 48 of Ashton, Iowa, was driving a 2007 Chrysler Pacifica, eastbound on 3rd Street and failed to yield to McMartin’s vehicle and collided in the intersection. McMartin’s vehicle sustained approximately $7,500 damage. Krogman’s vehicle sustained approximately $5,000 damage and was given a citation for Failure to Yield to Vehicle on the Right. McMartin was taken to the Osceola Community Hospital with possible injuries. No other injuries were reported.
In other news from the Osceola County Sheriff’s Office, on Saturday (9/1), they received a complaint about an assault that took place in Sibley. Cliff Garnett was arrested for alleged Domestic Assault, a Simple Misdemeanor. Garnett was booked into the Osceola County Jail on a $300 cash bond.
