Two Rock Valley Teens Charged With Felony Criminal Mischief After Vehicle Vandalism

Rock Valley, Iowa — Two Rock Valley teens have been cited with felony criminal mischief after authorities say they damaged a car by jumping on it.

On Monday, June 25, just before 11 PM, the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office investigated a report of vandalism that occurred on the north parking lot of Western Christian High School in Hull. During the investigation it was found that a parked 2007 Chevrolet Impala sustained about $1,500 in damages allegedly caused by people repeatedly jumping on it.

Mitchell Vaandrager and Tyler Buckner, both 15 and both from Rock Valley were cited into Juvenile Court for criminal mischief, 2nd degree for participating in the vandalism. Vaandrager was cited on Tuesday (6/26) and Buckner on Thursday (6/28).

Criminal Mischief, 2nd degree, is a class D felony.
