Two Sioux Falls Men Arrested, Accused Of Felony Theft Of Copper In George

Lyon County Sheriff Car DoorGeorge, Iowa — Two Sioux Falls men are charged with felony theft after authorities allege they stole copper wiring and pipe in Lyon County.

On Saturday (2/2), the Lyon County Sheriff’s Department arrested 45-year-old Robert Clare Max of Sioux Falls and charged him with Theft in the 2nd Degree, a Class D Felony; Possession of Burglar Tools, an Aggravated Misdemeanor and no Valid Driver’s License.

They also arrested 24-year-old Cody Lynn Peterson of Sioux Falls on charges of Theft in the 2nd Degree and Possession of Burglar Tools.

The men are accused of stealing copper wiring and pipe from George businesses and possibly homes.

Their vehicle was also allegedly seen in Larchwood.

The case remains under investigation and residents are urged to contact the sheriff’s office if they are missing copper or tools.
