Two Spirit Lake Men Sentenced In Rock Rapids Theft Case

Rock Rapids, Iowa — Two Spirit Lake men will do jail time and probation among other penalties after they were convicted of the theft of items stolen from a Rock Rapids apartment in April.

Lyon County Attorney Carl Petersen’s office reports that 24-year-old Bryce James Morris Robinson and 26-year-old Jeremy Monroe Maynard, both of Spirit Lake have been sentenced to Theft in the 3rd Degree.

These convictions stem from complaints filed in April 2012 that stated on April 13, 2012 Robinson, Maynard, and another accomplice broke a window in an apartment in Rock Rapids and removed a TV, a laptop computer, and prescription drugs.

Robinson has been sentenced to a year in jail with all but twenty-five days suspended and he will serve one year of probation. Robinson has been ordered to pay a fine, statutory surcharge, court costs, court-appointed attorney fees, and victim restitution.

Meanwhile, Maynard has been sentenced to a year in jail with all but seventy-five days suspended and will serve a year on probation as well. Maynard was also ordered to pay a fine, statutory surcharge, court costs, court-appointed attorney fees, and victim restitution.
