UPDATED: Thanks For Food Pantry Donations..The Need Remains

Sheldon, Iowa — We recently asked our listeners to help replenish the nearly bare shelves at the O’Brien County UDMO Food Pantry in Primghar, and you stepped up.

Collections of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at O’Brien County Implement in east Sheldon, and since they began accepting donations for the food pantry they have received more than two loads of food that they’ve taken to UDMO in Primghar. Jay Schemper of O’Brien County Implement says they’re still accepting those donations.

Schemper says the demand for foodstuffs from the UDMO Food Pantry vary somewhat by season.

If you’d like to drop off non-perishable food items for the O’Brien County UDMO Food Pantry, Schemper says you can do it in Sheldon, if it’s more convenient.

The Upper Des Moines Opportunity O’Brien County Food pantry helps citizens in the county who may not have food to eat without the help of the food pantry, and the people who support the project with their food donations.

Sheldon, Iowa — The O’Brien County UDMO Food Bank is currently experiencing a severe shortage of non-perishable food items.

The O’Brien County food pantry located at Upper Des Moines Opportunity in Primghar could use your help. UDMO’s Brenda Collier says the shelves at the food pantry are becoming bare. They could really use donated canned fruits and vegetables, jelly, canned meats, hamburger helper, ready meal packets, spaghetti sauces, soups, syrups, and pancake mixes.

UDMO just announced they have secured a Sheldon location for drop offs. Items may be dropped off at O’Brien County Implement, located just north of Fareway in Sheldon. Their hours are 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday through Friday and 7:30am til noon on Saturday.

Please help this worthwhile organization with your food donations.

O’Brien County, Iowa — The O’Brien County Upper Des Moines Opportunity Food Bank in Primghar furnishes food supplies to O’Brien County residents who need nutrition assistance.

But right now, UDMO’s Brenda Collier says the Food Pantry shelves are nearly bare.

Collier says the Food Pantry is in dire need of your generous donation, and says there are a couple of ways you can help.
