Upper Des Moines Needs More People To Adopt A Family
Date posted - December 6, 2013
The Adopt-a Family program provides holiday gifts to low-income children, seniors and disabled residents of O’Brien County.
There is also a similar program in Osceola County called “Sharing Christmas.”
Annette Eckert with Upper Des Moines tells us about the program.
She says that while the response has been good, they need some more help, especially in O’Brien County.

She says around 20 families still need to be adopted.
Eckert wants to thank the public and KIWA for helping with this project.
If you or your group wishes to adopt, you can find a the list of families on our website at kiwaradio.com. Then you can call the Upper Des Moines Opportunity office at 957-1023 between 9:00 and 3:30 Monday through Friday and indicate which individual or family you would like to adopt. You are asked to be ready with more than one selection as the list is updated continually.
