Village Run Walk & Roll Receives $1,200 Grant

Sheldon, Iowa — Village Northwest Unlimited has been the recipient of a “Local Motion Grant” for their 2017 Run, Walk & Roll event.

VNU Director of Development Lisa Johnson says the grant is awarded by Alceco, a farmer-owned cooperative partner with Ag Partners, along with the Land-O-Lakes Foundation, which matches dollar-for-dollar the cash donation of member cooperatives like Alceco.

According to a press release from Alceco, Village Northwest Unlimited was awarded a total of $1,200, which will be used toward the cost of the organization’s 12th annual Run, Walk & Roll, scheduled for June 3, 2017 in Sheldon. The event features a 5K, 10K and 1 mile walk/roll, and raises needed funds that allow Village Northwest Unlimited to continue to provide quality services for people with disabilities. The event also serves as an opportunity for clients of Village Northwest Unlimited to bring their families and friends, and interact with others from the local community and surrounding areas. The 2016 event hosted nearly 400 participants.
