West Lyon Construction Ahead Of Schedule

Inwood, Iowa — After a bond issue passed about 13 months ago, West Lyon School officials have been working with architects and contractors to work on the project. West Lyon voters overwhelmingly approved a $2.89 million bond issue in April 2017. The issue needed 60 percent to pass and received 70.68% of the vote.

West Lyon Superintendent Jim Hargens tells us how construction is going so far.

He tells us about the timeline for the other parts of the project.

Hargens says except for the industrial arts and vo-ag area, the project is expected to be complete by the time the students come back in the fall. He says, however, that construction has been going so well for the industrial arts and vo-ag area, that that may be ready shortly after school begins as well. He says originally that part had a completion date in October of this year.
