Lyon County, Iowa – The West Lyon Community School District has announced the hiring of a new Superintendent of Schools.
According to West Lyon Business Manager Bob Tracy, Mr. Shawn Kreman, who currently serves as 7 -12 Principal at Iowa Valley Community Schools in Marengo, will become the West Lyon Superintendent on July 1st.
Tracy says the interview process for hiring the new superintendent involved approximately 55 members of the West Lyon School System including students, support staff, teachers, administrators, community members, parents, and the Board of Education. He says Kreman was selected from an applicant pool of 13 candidates.
For the past 9 years, Kreman has served as the 7-12 Principal in the Iowa Valley Community School District in Marengo. He has 31 years of experience in the education field, according to Tracy.
He says Kreman’s various leadership experiences, the proven focus on student achievement, the ability to form strong relations within the school district and the passion to serve students will be an asset to the West Lyon District.
