Wind Power Line Company Continues Progress Towards Wind Power Line Here
Date posted - August 23, 2012
Primghar, Iowa — A Texas-based company is building a wind power line across the state and a converter station in O’Brien County.
Cary Kottler, a Project Development Manager with Clean Line Energy tells us about the progress on the project.
Kottler says they have meetings scheduled in our region. The meetings are for vendors that may provide products and services to help them building the line and converter station.
The closest meeting to our area is on Monday (8/27) at the Sioux City Convention Center. The meeting will run from 3:30 to 5 PM.
He says many different types of businesses may be interested.
Kottler says they haven’t started right-of-way acquisition yet in Iowa. He says they’re still planning the route. He says they’ll submit the route next year to the Iowa Utilities Board and start right-of-way acquisition.
He says they are inching ever closer to determining a final location for the converter station.
If you’re interested in learning more about the project, particularly if you run or represent a business that could stand to benefit, Kottler says there’s that meeting in Sioux City on Monday, and one in Fort Dodge Tuesday morning.
