Wintry Weather Causes Travel Issues

Northwest Iowa — Although there have NOT been any “No Travel Advisories” in northwest Iowa this (Wednesday) morning, there IS a “Tow Ban” in effect across the area due to the latest winter storm to hit northwest Iowa.

KIWA talked with Iowa State Trooper Vince Kurtz, who was at the scene of an accident near Granville this morning, and he tells us that there have been quite a few mishaps around northwest Iowa.

Kurtz says the visibility in the area is well under half a mile, as of 10am Wednesday, and roads are slippery.

If you must travel today remember to slow down, and be VERY cautious of the weather. Remember, a “Tow Ban” means that if you go out on the road and go in the ditch, there won’t be a tow truck coming to pull you out until weather conditions improve dramatically.
